The first date must be his birthday in 1898, the second
is 7-8 months before his death. (The date 5.4.1965 was probably a result of a Danish request for 31 war-criminals including Carl Vaernet was sent to Germany 26th February 1965, upon a German request in 1964 for a final list of outstanding war-criminals. Of a total of 20 of fatal cases all were investigated, including evidently the case of Vaernet, but no one were prosecuted.)
